Popular Red Rug Shades
- Barnyard Red Rugs: This is very similar to firehouse red. It is a classic red color squarely in the middle of the various shades of red, not too dark, not too light. Area rugs in this shade of red are bold, vivid, and bright.
- Burgundy Braided Rugs: This is a classic color, probably as old as red wine. In country decor and primitive decor, this is an eternal color. Burgundy rugs are also very similar to maroon area rugs.
- Crimson Rugs: Roll tide. Crimson is a popular red shade. You will find quite a few home decor accents with crimson.
- Cranberry Area Rugs: This red color is very similar to the shade of a dried cranberry. It goes very well with classic decor, and will warm up a room as well as add a touch of brightness.
- Pink Rugs: Although very different looking than cranberry, or Crimson, pink is also a shade of red. Pink is very pretty as a little girls rug.

This is a very dramatic color combination. You can use many shades of red hair, such as maroon and cranberry and pair it with red. Oval rugs have one big advantage - their corners don’t rise up. We have seen a lot of our customer love that about oval braided rugs. However, Homespice is the home of the rectangle braided rug ! Additionally your space defines it too. A small bathroom might need a small oval rug, whereas a large bathroom could use a rectangle rug in front of the shower or kitchen sink. Doorways also vary. Oval is a great small doorway rug, but for larger French doors you could go with a 4x6’ braided rug, rectangle shape. Along with color you also need to consider shapes. Both Oval braided rugs and rectangle braided rugs are popular. For the dining room rug we recommend you follow the shape of the table top.
