These area rugs are classic. Living rooms often have black or brown leather furniture. Our wooden flooring is brown shade. For many people this is also a great bedroom rug. Also since this color hides dirt so well it is great as a doorway rug or an entryway rug. Additionally your space defines it too. A small bathroom might need a small oval rug, whereas a large bathroom could use a rectangle rug in front of the shower or kitchen sink. Doorways also vary. Oval is a great small doorway rug, but for larger French doors you could go with a 4x6’ braided rug, rectangle shape.
